I don't work on the game engine itself, so I won't be able to help you. Please see http://www.fsinsider.com/team/Pages/Feedback.aspx for links to support.

Hello,
I'm having a problem, like many it seems, with FSX SP2. It installs fine and flight sim runs fine except for the fact that it continually ask me to activate. When I activate it and everything loads its running in the trial version without the multiplayer option. If I uninstall the SP2 update FSX runs without a problem. I've checked the registry that you have mentioned just to be sure that wasnt the problem and all is correct. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you for any help provided.

Peter,

Sounds like the file's corrupted. I'd suggest downloading it again. You can check the signature using the fciv tool available at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290. The signatures for the English version of SP2 are:

                MD5

After I downloaded SP2 and tried to run it, the Windows error code tells me that this is not a valid installer package. I cannot get it to run at all. Any ideas?

Garth said,
December 20, 2007 @ 22:36

I can’t load for this reason….

AppName fsx.exe AppStamp Stamp 475e17d3
ModName g2d.dll ModVer Stamp 475e18oc

Would this be the same issue, that is Registry?

I had a similar crash report. FSX crashed on start-up.
The problem was due to 2 DX10 dll files in my system 32 folder. Just search for dxgi.dll and d3d10.dll and remove them if found on your XP machin running dx9

Hi, I installed FSX Acceleration, and get the following message on FSX startup;
Unexpected error occurred preventing product activation being completed...
Code 1-80004005
Game runs and the new content is there, but it remains in Demo mode and quits after 30mins.
I have tried full un-install and re-install, but no change.
Any ideas?

Mark,

If you don't have the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, your registry needs to be repaired. Just stick DVD #1 in your drive and choose the Repair option. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall and reinstall.

OS is XP Home ( Should have got Pro )

On 32-bit operating systems, open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ microsoft games\ flight simulator\ 10.0 key in the left pane.

Problem is this doesn't exist on my box, however I do have:
On 32-bit operating systems, open the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ microsoft games\ flight simulator\ 10.0 key in the left pane.

So I tried the entry anyway, still doesn't work. One time original install of FSX, no addons etc. Only change has been install of SP1.
